Here are two pictures of the Apple design team.  The first is from the early eighties and shows the team that created the first Macintosh; including Andy Hertzfield and Burrell Smith.  The second is from yesterday (18th Sept, 2012) and shows Jonathan Ive at the center surrounded by the other 15 members on the team.
